WHAT IS POLLUTION ?
“Any undesirable change in physical chemical or biological characteristics of air water and land which is harmful to the men directly or indirectly through animals plants industrial units for raw materials is called pollution”.
POLLUTANTS
Any material on the part of man or nature which leads to pollution is called pollutants.
2 type of pollutants
Non degradable pollutants:- Example : plastics, aluminum pecks etc.
Biodegradable pollutants :- Example : Live stock waste , Paper, Wood …
TYPES OF POLLUTION
AIR POLLUTION :-
Due to the addition of unwanted substances or gases.
Due to carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, smoke etc.
Effects of air pollution :- Greenhouse effect or global warming
Usually carbon dioxide is not considered as a pollutant but its higher concentration form a thick layer above the Earth surface. Due to this temperature of earth surface increases this is called greenhouse effect or global warming.
Mainly green house gases are CO2,CH4,CFC,NO2 etc.

WATER POLLUTION :-
It is due to by many sources such as sewage matter, industrial wastages, agricultural wastes , domestic wastes etc.

SOUND POLLUTION :-
Increase in the noise and the atmosphere is called the noise pollution about sound pollution.
Noise is a loud and unwanted or unpleasant sound.
